About Us

My first project was a book case. All I had was a hand saw, a framing square, a hammer and nails, a measuring tape and a pencil. I made it outside in the back yard using a stump to elevate the boards so I could run the hand saw up and down. I still have it today almost 40 years later! I am attracted to the longevity of things and want them to last a life time. I also work full time as a firefighter. This has been and still is a very rewarding career. I love the people that we help, the community involvement and especially the people I have worked with at the station for over 20 years. It takes a lot of passion and dedication and an attitude of serving others to do this job day after day, up all night handling emergencies no matter what they are or where they happen, all while being away from your own family.

A lot of that flows over into furniture making because it is who I am, it comes from inside so it goes into all I do. Work, family, fun etc. I'm an "all in" or nothin kind of person. So I will work hard on your project start to

finish. I will approach it like it was my own and going in my own house. My idea of success would be all the stories told about Family adventures over the years all while gathering around a table I helped you create or a cutting board I helped you build or a bowl I turned for you on the lathe. I want to share what I have learned and offer the same creative outlet for you as I have experienced.

I envision a "community workshop" where folks could come and learn or use the tools in the shop. Don't have a lathe but would like to try it out? Come on by. Have some skills but don't have a table saw and need a few boards cut? Come on over. Have an idea about building something you never tried before ? Let's try it together. We can have a lot of fun, you get to take home a cool project.
